Sunset Monday

Bus on Casserly Road, Corralitos, CA

I meant to post this in time for Sunset Sunday, but due to overindulgence in food and wine, did not make it. So, here it is now.

View Large to see inside the scary bus.

Brillant Sabine! Love the colour! Love the atmosphere! (If you get a chance can you show us what you did to the original...?)

Sabine wrote...
marquis will do tonight as the original is on the home computer. This is actually two seperate pictures. One of an old bus I took at sunset and one of a foggy sunset picture I recently took. I'll put them, and the process, up tonight.

here is the bus photo straight from the camera 2008 04 11_0075-1 I added lots of fill light and upped the black. Then I split toned and made the highlights warm and the shadows greenish.

and here is the foggy sunset. 2008 04 25_0130-1 My original intention was to try and get the sun through a bus window, but all attempts were pretty hokey. I gave the fog a greenish tone to match the bus picture and blended the two images using a layer mask. I "painted" the areas on the bus where i wanted the fog picture to show through. If you look real close you can see where my laziness led to the fog sort of bleeding into the bus, but they are both toned so similar that its not totally obvious. And its fog, and thats sort of what fog does anyway.... Oh, and I also added glow. Love me some glow.

Sabine I REALLY appreciate seeing what you've done here (and I bet I'm not alone).Thank you very much- its brilliant! You should run a PS Internet masterclass!

Still in Lightroom? My 30 day trial ran out :(

Sabine wrote...
Jeska, I did the fill light/blacks conversion in Lightroom, but I think this can be done in Camera Raw as well. Which is why I can't give a PS class, because I haven't even used it yet. But I just got a copy, so maybe soon....
