After the Ride
San Martin, CA
A totally cliche shot for Sunset Sunday, but I can’t help myself. This is what I see when I finish my evening ride and it makes me happy. So there you go.
Those hills in the background are some of the taller peaks in the Santa Cruz Mountains. The tallest is the one on the left, Mt Loma Prieta, at 3786 ft / 1154 m, which may not seem like much, but these mountains rise straight from sea level. The San Andreas fault runs just behind those peaks and was the site of the epicenter of the 7.1 Loma Prieta Earthquake in 1989. I live just a few miles from that epicenter.
Its like, Sunset Sunday with bonus facts.

nope, not tonights! Tonights was sort of weird and hazy on the coast.

Thanks for the 'kitsch' I love it - you live a few miles from the epicenter??
Why do some flickr contacts feel sorry for me that I live 60 miles away from Mt. St. Helen?

yep, about 4 miles as the crow flies.
Us ring of fire folks live in pretty country.

where am i when you're capturing these amazing images??
this is the result of being out in the open on a bike, as opposed to being trapped in a car.
Wonderful, non-cliche photo.

that would make me happy too at the end of my ride!
i get a similiar sunrise when i run in the AM. but to carry a clunky camera with me, could be a work out in itself. :)
